MATELEC LIGHTING collaborates with the 4th International Contest of Photography in Artificial LightWorks by the finalists and winners will be included in an exhibition at ePower&Building
MATELEC LIGHTING has collaborated with the International Contest of Photography in Artificial Light (ICAL), sponsored by the Lighting Studies Workshop at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and trade journal iCandela. The event was organised to recognise the sensitivity and aesthetic taste of students of Architecture, Engineering, Design and Art at an awards ceremony for the fourth edition of the competition.
MATELEC LIGHTING will be one of the specialised areas at the 19th edition of the International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry, MATELEC 2018, which will take place from 13 to 16 November at Feria de Madrid, under the umbrella of ePower&Building with the slogan "Transforming the way we build a Green World”. MATELEC LIGHTING will be the place to see all the main innovations and the latest trends in the lighting sector.
At this fourth edition, the International Contest of Photography in Artificial Light (ICAL) awarded prizes in two categories, one for students and the other for professionals. The former consisted of different modalities such as Interior Space Lighting, Architectural Lighting and Landscape and Monument Lighting. The second category, with no specific theme, was open solely to professionals. Around 500 photographs were received during the registration period, from more than 20 universities and professionals from 17 countries around the world.
The finalists’ and winners’ work will be included in a travelling exhibition that will visit both national and international universities, as well as the next edition of ePower&Building, which will take place at Feria de Madrid in November in the MATELEC LIGHTING hall, where the lighting industry will be housed. The LIGHT to LIGHT technical seminar will take place in the same hall, where professionals from different disciplines will debate the added value to all architectural projects of working in a cross-cutting way from the word ‘go’.
Some of the main artificial lighting companies participated in and supported the competition. Among others, iGuzzini; Artemide; Delta Light; Viabizzuno; Sylvania; Sakma; Carpyen and MATELEC LIGHTING.
