The 19th International Exhibition of Solutions for the Electrical and Electronic Industry, MATELEC 2018, organised by IFEMA, which will be held from 13 to 16 November in Halls 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 at Feria de Madrid Exhibition Centre, brings together the electrical and electronic industry in southern Europe in a great forum for business and innovation, which will help to boost the sector and multiply business opportunities. The event is set to be the most comprehensive yet, with a growth of 30% compared to the last edition, reaching almost 1,000 exhibiting companies and more than 50,000 professional participants. One of the highlights of this event is that, for the first time, it will include two guest countries: Colombia and Morocco.
MATELEC is being held under the umbrella of ePower &Building with the slogan" Transforming the way we build a Green World". An event that includes all the solutions for a building's lifecycle, - CONSTRUTEC, BIMEXPO, ARCHISTONE and VETECO -, and expects to gather 1,600 exhibiting companies –30% more than in the previous fair held in 2016- and more than 80,000 professional visitors, from 100 countries, positioning it as one of the biggest European platforms for the building industry, where sustainability, innovation and technology will be the keys to transforming the industry. The MATELEC event joins this big fair with its three areas: MATELEC, LIGHTING and INDUSTRY.
MATELEC again reveals itself as the benchmark trade event in southern Europe for the electrical, electronic and telecommunication industry, sectors representing electrical installations, telecommunications and networks, apparatus, mechanisms, cables and conductors, energy storage and self-consumption, electronics, electric vehicle, automation, building automation and Smart Cities.
MATELEC LIGHTING is one of the lighting and illumination industry's major events, with a very wide range in LED, technical lighting, exterior lighting, components, electrical engineering, efficiency, design, new architectural solutions, of special interest to installers, distributors, architects, lighting designers, interior designers and representatives of warehouses and renovation and building companies.

The second MATELEC INDUSTRY 2018, International Exhibition of Solutions for Industry and Smart Factory, will be held in Halls 2 and 4 at the Feria de Madrid Exhibition Centre. The event takes at a particularly opportune time for the industry, which, in a highly favourable new economic scenario, is progressing towards a digital environment 4.0. MATELEC INDUSTRY will coincide with MATELEC and MATELEC LIGHTING, to take advantage of their common synergies.
With the slogan "Transforming connectivity in industrial productivity," the companies exhibiting at MATELEC INDUSTRY will their most innovative side, with their latest products, structuring their offering around five major areas: Automation (in Processes, Industry and Energy); Digital Factory; Industrial Energy Control and Management Solutions; Industrial Electronics; and Electrical and Telecommunications Installations. Leading manufacturers will shed light on the best solutions related to the new technologies, such as big data, loot, cyber security, collaborative robotics and 3D printing.

Extensive conference programme
MATELEC 2018 will have an interesting programme of meetings and conferences, in which the main , for the sector, will be discussed . They will be joined by those that will be held in MATELEC INDUSTRY.
MATELEC 2018 will host the final phase of the Young Installers Contest, organised by the Spanish National Installers Federation (FENIE), as part of its commitment to and recognition of professional training and new technologies. The contest will host the largest number of participants in the history of the event. will have 39 participants (in 2016 there were 25 contestants and in 2014, 12). The contest, which held its provincial phase this year in the headquarters of FENIE's associations, is now entering its final phase, which will take place between 13 and 16 November at "The Installer's World" stand in MATELEC.
MATELEC will also host the third "Energy Efficiency Awards", which rewards projects that stand out for their contribution to energy efficiency in homes and buildings through the implementation of open automation and control technology. The contest is organised by the Spanish KNX Association and FENIE, Spanish National Facilities Companies Federation. The awards ceremony will take place on 14 November, at 2:00 p.m.
This is the first year that Plataforma Electronet e-commerce has taken on the management of ETIM Spain. And to explain this innovation the Electrical Material Manufacturers' Association, AFME, with the support of the Electrical Material Distributors' Association, ADIME, will organise the meeting that will include Marc Habets, Technical Director with ETIM International. The conference on digitised product information focused on ETIM and BIM will be held in the TECH FORUM at MATELEC (Hall 7 at Feria de Madrid) on Wednesday, 14 November, starting at 4.00 p.m.
MATELEC and MATELEC INDUSTRY will hold a conference on sustainability and another on technology in energy services, both organised by ANESE, the Energy Services Companies Association. The first conference, which will be followed by a debate, will focus on new digital technologies and, specifically, the blockchain in energy services. he second, will deal with the application of energy services in sustainable mobility and distributed generation; and real cases will be examined.
MATELEC INDUSTRY will hold a conference on cybersecurity in connected industry in processing plants the conference is arranged by the ISA (International Automation Society) Spain Section and will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday 14 November. It will analyse industry 4.0 and how it is applicable to the process industry, the need for protection and the types of attacks and the relationship between the IT world and OT and will take an in-depth look at defence. In addition, several examples will be presented.
