    This is the first year that Plataforma Electronet e-commerce has taken over the management of ETIM Spain

    MATELEC, International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry, organised by IFEMA at Feria de Madrid, from 13 to 16 November, will host a conference on digitised product information focusing on ETIM (Electro-Technical Information Model) and BIM (Building Information Modelling).

    This is the first year that Plataforma Electronet e-commerce has taken over the management of ETIM Spain. And to explain this innovation the Electrical Material Manufacturers' Association, AFME, with the support of the Electrical Material Distributors' Association, ADIME, will organise the meeting that will include the presence of Marc Habets, Technical Director with ETIM International.

    The lighting sector in Spain grew by 5.8% in 2017 with a turnover of 1,441 million, according to data provided by the Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers, ANFALUM, in its recently held Ordinary General Assembly. In the domestic market, the sector growth is even higher at 953 million, 6.1% up on the previous year. Exports, which account for 34% of total turnover, increased by 5.2%, and are now one of the mainstays of Spanish lighting companies. ANFALUM will again have an outstanding presence at the next edition of the International Exhibition of Solutions for the Electrical and Electronic Industry, MATELEC, organised by IFEMA from 13 to 16 November at Feria de Madrid, under the umbrella of ePower&Building.

    MATELEC is conducting Spain's first ever survey into the degree of digitisation of companies in the electrical installation and lighting sectors. The survey has been designed by TELEMATEL. The survey looks at manufacturers, distributors and installation companies and is designed to ascertain to what extent our industrial community has been digitised.

    MATELEC LIGHTING has collaborated with the International Contest of Photography in Artificial Light (ICAL), sponsored by the Lighting Studies Workshop at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and trade journal iCandela. The event was organised to recognise the sensitivity and aesthetic taste of students of Architecture, Engineering, Design and Art at an awards ceremony for the fourth edition of the competition.

    MATELEC, International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry, and AFME, Association of Manufacturers of Electrical Material, have launched the 4th Innovation and Energy Efficiency Awards. The awards acknowledge and recognise the research and development undertaken by companies taking part in MATELEC, and raise the profile of all the innovations exhibited to visitors at the fair by participants. Nominations for these awards are now open, and will close on 15 October.
