The lighting sector in Spain grew by 5.8% in 2017, with a turnover of 1.44 billion. This is clear from the data provided by the Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers, ANFALUM, in its ordinary general assembly, held recently.
In the domestic market business, the sectoral growth was even higher, reaching 953 million, 6.1% up on the previous year. Exports, which account for 34% of total turnover, increased by 5.2%, and are now one of the mainstays of Spanish lighting companies.
The positive figures for the sector are boosting business, as will be seen at MATELEC, the International Exhibition of Solutions for the Electrical and Electronic Industry. A trade fair that has become the reference commercial event in Southern Europe for the electrical, electronic and telecommunications sector.
MATELEC will have three distinct areas: MATELEC, MATELEC LIGHTING and MATELEC INDUSTRY, in which the main issues that concern each segment and that will mark its future will be present. MATELEC LIGHTING will focus on companies specialising in lighting and illumination.
